How to encourage 15month old to drink more water as not drinking enough is causing hard poos and anal fissure . I use the tumtum sippy cup and place it near him so its always within reach. Even offer it from open cup but only has a few sips. He rarely finishes the entire tum tum cup in a day!

Straw

get them to choose the cup

some children like warm water, some cold, some sparkling or a fruit added
or prefer milk

ice lollies

etc

just try difficult things - a cup they love is vital

Mine had ones that looked like a cow ….

A straw cup + sugar free squash or well diluted apple juice. Ordinarily I’d say persevere with the plain water but I’d take squash over anal fissures any day.

I find that varieties of cups work for us. So one day we'll use a tommee tippee sippy, then the munchkin the next day etc. He also uses an open cup for mealtimes and a sippy cup for playing, so even more variety.

Mine takes more when it's open. Sometimes a crazy straw is required to spice things up

I got my then 16m old a leak free water bottle with a straw and she loves it. 2 months later she still drinks all water I give her.

My 15 mo loves drinking out of “grown up” cups bottles. Even just a disposable plastic water bottle! Generally whatever we’re drinking out of, he wants. Especially if you add a bit of theatre with “mmmmm” “aaaaa” type noises! Can be a bit messy but if it’s just water, not so much of a problem.
