Long haul holidays with a 7 month old

First up, is this a ridiculous idea?

Secondly- what are your suggestions for a baby friendly holiday with a 7 month old for 2 weeks in January?

We want sun, good food and are not intending to travel around too much whilst there.

We had been thinking of Tulum, Mexico, Phuket or Oman. Is the plane journey and time difference to Thailand a crazy idea? I liked the idea of the Maldives but would probably be a bit anxious about lack of hospital on the resort islands

He'll be 7 months but as he was premature we'd wait to wean him until we get back home.. that's ok right?

First off, it’s not a crazy idea at all. I have 4 children- I have travelled long haul with all of them since they were tiny. Honestly, the younger, the better. Enjoy it before they turn into toddlers!
Probably a good idea to leave weaning until you get back though

I wouldn't bother going all that way if all you want is a bit of sunshine and food with no exploring. Stick to the canaries.

Oman hands down, weather will be perfect, shorter flight, only a 3 hour time difference.

Re the weaning mine were premature and we were told to wean at actual not corrected age.
