Advice on training uncoperative 2.6yr...

DD2 is ready to train. Night-time nappy has been dry since she was 2yrs but she refuses to train.

She appears to be afraid of going on the potty or toilet. When we are at home in the afternoon I leave her with no nappy on and she can hold on for up to four hours. Physically she is ready but she just doesn't want to it seems.

I trained DS at 2.3yrs with no problems and DD1 trained herself at 2yrs!

Has anyone got any strategies or advice on how I can get her interested. I don't want to force the issue as I know it may cause more problems.

Honestly - step back for a month or so - try to get her to watch dd1 do it and give loads of praise to dd1 (get her on on it!) and tempt dd2 with, 'wow - dd1 you're so clever', perhaps when dd2 is a big girl she can try too - but I bet she can't do it now'...sort of thing - very gently though, seriously don't force it. She's still young and she may just be taking her time.

Sorry - I meant to say, include dd1 on the reverse psych too so that she can get in on the act.x

You could also give out random choccy buttons to dd1 when she goes as praise for being so clever....dd2 may twig then!

My DD will sit on the potty hasn't mastered weeing on it yet.
We sat her dollies on it and let dolly do a wee.
