Early scan showing 5 and a half weeks not 7. No heartbeat detected. Any positive stories please?

Hi all,

I had my scan weds. My dates put me around 7 weeks but the sonographer measured 5-5 and a half weeks. Yolk Sac but no heartbeat and ordered a rescan for 4th October.

My Flo app, predicted me ovulation and edd although I'm not sure on those dates.

Is this fairly common? Any positive stories to share?

Aug 22 I went into sudden labour and lost our baby boy at 20 weeks, after a only finding out I was pregnant a few days before.

I'm so anxious, but want to be so positive.

Insanely common. My app predicted my ovulation and EDD dates, but I knew I didn't even get my LH surge until 2 days after my 'ovulation' date, and then ovulation doesn't happen until 24-48 hours later. Scans match up with 24 hours after my LH surge.

At this point rescan is all they can do, wish you the best x

Yes, I had an early scan and thought I was 7 weeks but sonographer said they could only see a sac. I was convinced it wasn’t viable but a fortnight later we could see everything developing fine.
DD is now 8.

Slightly different but I was really sure of my dates but ended up measuring 2 weeks behind at the twelve week scan (thought I was around twelve weeks). Had a rescan a couple of weeks later and everything was fine and so were subsequent scans. Maybe I just ovulated later than I thought, but I remember being so baffled at the time.

This happened to me, I went for a scan last week I thought I was 6+2 but they could see gestational sack and yolk sac and a tiny embryo no HB so I'm going back tomorrow it would have been a week, im so nervous

@QueeniePlumtree hi, not good unfortunately... nothing has grown since last week and I should be 7 weeks now and there is only a sac there, going into hosp Friday for the tablets x
