Brushing teeth when baby is asleep

Am I alone in this or are there others who do the same? Am I doing anything ‘wrong’ in doing this?! So my baby breastfeeds to sleep in the evening, which I don’t mind. After she falls asleep, I gently open her mouth and brush her teeth. Is is ok? Is the toothbrushing still effective? Thank you if anyone can share their experiences or knowledge.

The only downside I can see is that she doesn't get used to having her teeth brushed. One day you'll have to do it when she's awake and she won't know wft you're doing!

It’s a good point! I brush them in the morning and I do it at other times in the day sometimes for ‘fun’ and let her play.
