Teething, illnesses & low appetite

DS is 11 months and just started nursery. Obviously he’s picked up bugs and became ill a couple of weeks ago with viral infection. He lost his appetite understandably and thankfully now is better but he’s teething and I can can see 4 of his top teeth cutting through! This has again meant low appetite but he’s not been eating much the last two weeks now and it seems like an awfully long time for him not to be eating

does this seem normal? I’m hoping once his teeth have cut through he’ll get his appetite back but god knows how long that will take

Yes I think this is normal. My DS is 15months now and has had several episodes of eating a lot less / being much pickier for a couple of weeks because of teething or illness. Longest period was about 3 weeks after the 12 month vaccinations! Appetite has always recovered, although remember growth slows down after 12 months, so you might find that also contributes to a smaller appetite.

Super normal. Try soft food - yogurt, porridge, pancakes.
