I need some ideas ladies.

My baby is 9 months and he's having 3-4 8oz bottles a day alongside breakfast and dinner.

What are you all feeding you're 9 month baby's?

Wanting to explore new foods and textures.

Always worry about him choking though

I have a 9 month ds - typical day is
breastfeed first thing
breakfast 1 weetabix and 1 banana with full fat milk
lunch is whatever we had for supper and if I have to freeze to organise his portions - so six ice cubes is how I currently work it out...
pudding - a bit of fruit purée or Greek yoghurt. I've discovered mango purée from Aldi and he loves it.
he's just giving up his breastfeed after his lunch nap
tea is toast/egg/crumpet/cucumber/tomato/fruit mix up - but that kind of thing..
breastfed at bedtime
Hope that helps!

I think at 9 months I'd be dropping a bottle and intruding Lunch.

One he hits 20 months he only needs 13.5 floz a day, so I'd drop one bottle now and another in a couple of weeks to give him time to adjust.

This guide from the Caroline Walker Trust has some good advice including suggested portion sizes and sample menus. You'll probably need from page 39.

And if you're frightened of them choking, have you done a Paediatric First Aid Course? Knowing what to do will help but choking is rare and can happen with purées too.

Baby might gag as they get used to moving food around their mouth and how much they can handle at a time but that's normal, just make sure you know the difference between gagging and choking Wink

We went to formula at 10 months with my daughter who didn't eat. She had 3 5oz bottles during the day, an 8oz bottle before bed and 1-2 5oz bottles overnight
She would have 1 or 2 spoonfuls of Weetabix, a few peas or carrots with 2-3 pieces of pasta for lunch or dinner rarely both.
It was so stressful!

My baby is 8.5 months old and currently on 3 bottles per day, first thing in morning, lunch time and evening. Does anyone have a routine idea?
