NIGHTMARE TOILET TIME!

Since the weekend my little 2.5 year old is petrified to go to the toilet! He kicks and screams, pushes me away, hits out at me, won't let me wipe him clean, he's acting really scared, he really freaks out, the way he looks at me he looks so frightened. Have had no problems up to this point and it seemed to happen overnight, except he won't poo on the toilet and we never make an issue out of that, we were just chuffed he was weeing on the toilet. But now he is really scared and I'm not sure what to do for the best.

will he go on a potty instead? Or try him standing up?

Have tried all chopster, he has all of a sudden become very wary and scared! Tried making it fun, and not making an issue out of it if he doesn't want to. I have never seen him like this before.

I think I'd put him back in nappies. How long has he been trained?

Have you ruled out any urine infection or anything that would explain him maybe not wanting to go?

One of mine also refused to poo, but we never had this. Hopefully someone else might be more helpful!

He hasn't been out of nappies yet, but he has been going to the toilet with no problems for over 3 months. It's not like we have forced him to go, he used to ask us, but now there is a big kick off. I am leaving him to it at the moment, I don't want to force the issue and make matters worse.

I know this may sound silly, but maybe he had a bad dream about it or someone may have been telling tales about monsters living down the toilet.

Could you ask him why he doesn't like it?

I have a 2.6yr DD who seems to be afraid of the toilet/potty so feel for you.

Well I think I know what was wrong! He's had the trots all day yesterday and today, he must have been sickening for something, the poor little thing even pooed in the bath tonight
