Please settle a family debate.

What colour would you say my son's hair is?

In those pics it looks Dirty Blonde to me

Strawberry blonde

Dark blonde.

Strawberry blonde, which prob looks more strawberry in the light.

That's not dark blonde at all.

It's a medium blonde with warm undertones.

So an 8.3 if you were buying a home hair dye.

This is the debate! I'd say his hair is dirty blonde or golden blonde but my MIL is convinced he's a red head.

He does have some little gingery stands through it but equally he has platinum blonde too.

Everyone comments how blonde he is but I think that's just because my husband and I are so dark and he doesn't look like ours.

I wouldn't say he's a red head, to me strawberry blonde is warmer than your DS'.

If you'd lost him in a playpark and needed to describe him you would say blonde, you MIL would be silly to describe him as a red head in that situation, you'd never find him - whatever his undertones are- that is a blonde child.

He's not dark blonde, as that's closer to brown and in no way is he brown.

It's definitely not red, the ginger tones are the warmth. Not red hair. Again, you'd not say to the police, he's a redhead, as they'd be looking for....well red hair.

Definitely dark blonde! My son is a red head (most people say it’s strawberry blonde) and you would absolutely call him a redhead (he also has ginger/ red eyebrows and blonde/ ginger eyelashes which are another giveaway!)

As a redhead, your son is blonde! He’s got darker blonde throughout that give it a warmer look but he’s not a redhead.

He’s just blonde. Yes you can get into specific undertones but who actually does that unless they’re consulting with the hairdresser during a colour appointment? If he god forbid went missing and you described him as red headed there would be zero chance of finding him because well he doesn’t have red hair. I’d suggest an optician’s appointment for MIL if she says it again.

Medium blonde

I would say medium blonde or what you might call dirty fair. Exactly the same colour as DS2's hair when he was small. He is 11 and his hair is now light brown and getting darker all time. I love looking at photos of him with his blonde hair. It was so alien to us because DP has dark brown hair and DS1 and I have black hair (well, mine is grey now😆) and all the grandparents and other close family are dark brown or black.

It's blond.

Definitely not a red head. My DS is a red head and my DD has hair colour like your sons. It's definitely blonde not red.
