Best dummy for EBF 6 month old

Hi,

Long shot I know but DD is 6 months and we've never found a dummy she will take. She's EBF and will not take a bottle but I think our lives would be easier if she at least took a dummy especially for night weaning. Any experienced this and have a dummy recommendation?

Why would you want to introduce a dummy at 6 months?! You're making more work for yourselves; weaning off a dummy is a lot harder and they don't really need it now. My daughter was EBF (still breastfeeds now at 2) and you really don't need to introduce a dummy I promise.

She currently feeds to sleep and I'm finding it really hard at the moment. I'll feed her to sleep put her in her cot and then she wakes up about 30 mins later and I have to feed her again, put her in her cot and this repeats for several hours. My DH can't put her down or settle her and we felt if we got her off the boob and used the dummy at least he could settle her to sleep some evenings. We're really at a loss of what to do 😭

It’s up to you but you’d only need to wean her off the dummy once her teeth come in so it seems to be making a rod for your own back.

Would you try co-sleeping? She’s likely to stay asleep for longer and when she does wake, you’ll both stay dozy if you feed in bed. Getting up and down to a cot must be really tough.
