How do I help my lonely 11yr girl, she has one real friend but out with school that friend is rarey available, any other friends are people who pick up and drop at a time that suits them, they scream and shout in arguments and stir up trouble mainly based of completely fabricated stories or events. My daughter see these people as her friends but they bring nothing but trouble, i am desperate to widen her circle but she gets furious and tells me shes fine and to get out her life, where as what i see is a lonely isolated girl that just nobody is interested in based on the opinions of other girls. What do i do, i am at a loss and everything i seem to do is wrong and causes more upset - pls help!

Is she involved in any groups or activities outside of school? If say this would be a good place to make new friends and there are so many different groups out there, think of what she is interested in and research a local group that would have children with the same interests.

You could look up peanut app or local parent groups and ask if a parent with a child same age would like to meet up

I would try to encourage group activities.

She’s in lots of groups but is always very much on the periphery of groups within them, it’s tricky.
