Hi my baby is 6 weeks +5
She was born at 37 weeks 6lb 7. Weight gain has been slow, currently at 8lb 3.
She had a posterior tongue tie cut on day 16 after we realised her weight was slow. Used expressing to help milk supply but lactation consultant advised to stop doing this as she latches better to a fuller boob.
I'm struggling and have been since she turned 5 weeks tbh, she wants to feed every minute of the day and therefore barely naps during the day. Just falls asleep at the breast, cries when put down then wants to feed again. She will actively suck and gulp. I unlatch her wh3n she starts just pacifying.Then i rock her and put her down
She cries so i start again.
She sleeps well at night, 10 till half 3. Then hour feed, nappy change then back on boob to get her to sleep. Sleeps 5am till 8.30.
Can i really put this all down to a growth spurt...or is this just my life now? She has plenty wet and dirty nappies, have been told not to worry about her slow weight gain.
Feel like I'm doint something wrong. I dont know any other mums who literally cant leave the sofa until 10pm when she will sleep for a long stretch.
At wits end. Please help
