Anyone who has the Dr Brown bottle and steriliser?

I’ve been having issues with milk not coming out of bottle tests when feeding. I was using kendamil with Dr Brown bottles and the first couple of weeks they were fine and then the teats started getting blocked up when we were feeding. Baby has some bottles with Gaviscon so we use a size 2 teat for those and size 1 when it’s without Gaviscon. It happened whether it was a Gaviscon bottle or not. So we bought a load of MAM bottles as thought it must be the bottles but it’s still happening. It’s so frustrating! It doesn’t happen every feed, some feeds it only happens a couple of times and other feeds from the beginning the milk won’t come out, I fiddle with the teat a bit and it’ll come out for one suckle then stop again. I used the same milk and bottles with my eldest and never had issues and prepared the bottles in the same way (Prep machine). The only thing I can think of that’s different is that we didn’t have the Dr Brown Steriliser and Dryer with my eldest. And this issue didn’t start until baby was a few weeks old and I’m sure it was around the time we bought the steriliser. So now the only thing I can conclude is that the drying cycle somehow stops the teats working?! I’ve no idea why that would be but I’m all out of ideas and I’m at my wits end with it. Does anyone have the same steriliser and had this experience?

How strange! I don’t have the dr browns steriliser but I do have the Nuby one which is basically the same. I started off on Mam bottles with anti reflux milk and persevered for a bit but hated them! Always leaked and I used to get a vacuum/air lock effect in it and my little one would just swallow air and no milk came out. Even when he switched to hipp milk they were a pain. I switched to dr browns and don’t seem to have an issue now and use them in the steriliser.

How old are the teats? I know they degrade quite quickly over time and need replacing every 2/3 months or so. Have they worn at all?

That’s interesting you’ve had a similar experience with the mam bottles! The teats were all brand new for this baby and she’s 8 weeks now. She was about 3.5 weeks when the issues started with the Dr Brown bottles so they were only a few weeks old. And then again all the mam teats are brand new

I have the brown's bottles but not the steriliser and also using gaviscon . I was also finding that the teats got clogged too but there didn't seem to be a pattern to it. I also Sorry ages pausing feeds to pinch the teats to unclog them!

I thought it might be the temperature of the milk so I try to warm the bottle a little before giving it (baby was happy to drink it cold from the fridge usually) Maybe try that is you aren't already? Not sure if it really made much difference but worth a go?

Just for info, we're only using 1 sachet and baby is now drinking 150-180ml and the clogging has stopped (using size 2).

Also, I read somewhere that screwing the tops on too tightly can make a massive difference too, so I try to make sure that I don't do this and it seems to have helped :)
