Do bathseats work when baby is already at crawling /pulling up stage?

Hello

Want to have kids bathe together (5 year old and 8 month old )but frankly it's a bit chaotic so I won't be able to have my hands on baby at all times to stop him slipping.

My first thought is one of those sitting bath seats but do they work to contain a baby when they are already a confident crawler and pulling up to standing given the chance?

What's the best strategy for bathing older kid and baby at same time?

Thanks!

Have you tried a bath mat? That worked for me to stop the slipping when my son was sitting securely but also wanting to move around!

Totally forgot about bathmats!

so once they are crawling is the static seat pretty useless?

Once they're crawling/standing is when the seat is most needed! It's like an underwater baby prison! Keep them sat down and not trying to stand up and smash their face on the side of the bath.

Pop them both in together. Then wash baby whilst older one mucks about. Take baby out and dry/dress. Then wash older ones hair etc and then get them out.

Soonish little one will be very comfortable sitting and bath mats wlll keep them safer so you need to watch them but not constantly hold them iyswim

I have this seat for my wee one. He's over a year and still uses this seat, he doesn't try to climb out. He's walking and pulling himself up for months and hasn't attempted to get out. It suctions to the bath so it doesn't move. Highly recommend

We have one like this for our 9mth old and it works really well. He loves that he can sit upright and reach for his toys and splash the water easier etc. Also takes up less room so if I need a shower I can still do that with him in his bath seat if he won't settle without me.

What @LittleBearPad said.
I found the seat invaluable when I was trying to bath my 3 every night.

My one year old still sits in her angelcare bath seat, as someone else said, it's a bit of a baby prison and just makes it so much easier

I used this seat until my boy was nearly 2. He couldn’t climb out and never tried. I would have used it for longer but his legs are too big now.
