Non crawling baby insists on being held to stand

My Dc is 9.5 months. Not interested in crawling. If put on front thinks it’s a game and funny to roll onto back.

She complains sat down. Basically she wants to be supported whilst she stands. I can’t support her alll day long. Any tips?! She’s not strong enough to stand without me supporting with at least one hand. I try and encourage her to use furniture to support herself but she can only do it for a few seconds before falling sideways or backwards.

Jumparoo?

LittleBearPad · 08/09/2023 18:54

Get a jumperoo and let her do her thing

Yep this is what jumparoo or the alternative hanging in a doorway things whatever they were called are for.

My elder son crawled but my second son shuffled around on his bottom and never crawled. He walked later than his elder brother, but walked when he was ready for it. Let your little girl develop at her own pace and find her own way of getting around-this is hugely important for her development. She’ll figure it out I’m sure. I wouldn’t be for encouraging her to use furniture to support herself as her muscles probably aren’t developed enough for that yet. When babies can stand, they use furniture etc instinctively as support.
