13 week old constantly picking things up/ poorly, should I be worried?

Hey All,

I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong/ could be concerned.

My LO is constantly poorly.
Had stomach flu at 8 weeks, Covid at 10 weeks and is now poorly again at 13 nearly 14 weeks (it’s looking like conjunctivitis)
I only managed to get him jabbed at 12 weeks due to all of this.

He’s breastfed, I have been taking him out a lot but no major gatherings or anything.
Should I be hiding him away? Is this normal? It’s all so stressful 😩

I mention breastfeeding as I heard this adds to immunity but doesn’t seem to be for us 😩

Yeah it sounds normal sorry. The good news is every bug he catches now is one he’ll have a bit more immunity to in future.

It’s normal and a good thing as he needs to build immunity. Those babies born in covid isolation who didn’t catch these bugs often ended up very ill when everything opened up. A friend of mine is a paediatrician in A&E and said they were seeing 14 month olds they wouldn’t normally expect to see during that time.
Hard on you but perfectly fine and normal for your baby.

@AbacusAvocado @SpanishSummer thank you both so much for taking the time to reply.
I’m honestly just relieved it’s normal and not something I’m doing wrong.
I have a few friends with babies and none of them have picked up so many things so early and so I was panicking there may be something wrong with his immune system 😫

It honestly doesn’t sound like there’s anything wrong, he’s just catching lots of bugs! Sadly when they’re just recovering from one bug they’re very vulnerable to catching the next bug so you often get in these runs of one bug after another.
