Secondary school tote bags!!

My year 7 has gone to school with a rucksack but has now seen everyone has a tote bag. These are way too impractical a) for the walk to school and for her shoulders but it’s like she’ll be the only one without one!! Help!

I doubt they all have totes. Could it be a few of her friends have them?

My dd came home yesterday and mentioned of one girl having one. She only noticed as the girl was stood in front of her at lunch and kept putting the bag on the floor saying it was too heavy.

The majority have rucksacks here. Spreads the weight more evenly.

My daughter uses a tote for secondary, really impractical and bad for her back but she's 14 and knows best

Literally every one of her friends have a tote! How did I miss this? Seen the back to school Facebook posts too. Plus trainer socks and slip on loafers! She’s got lace ups and ankle socks.

I need to talk to her about the practicality of a tote bag, she has about a 25 minute walk to school so it’s a long way to carry her books!

Does she actually want a tote bag?

I think she’s in two minds. A she loves her new rucksack it’s the one she’s wanted for a while, but B is feeling a bit like oh a tote would be nice.

I feel a bit bad for being so off trend!
