What are these spots/rash?

Hello I went with my baby unvaccinated due to age to the hospital at the weekend. Baby is well in herself. These spots are not disappearing under a glass either. Hospital did a platelet and clotting test on Sunday which came back fine. Since then a few more of these purple spots have appeared on the same leg. I went to a private paediatrician who confirmed no sepsis/meningitis and likely a viral infection as baby has had a slight cough and a recurring eye infection. My dsis thinks it's perpura (but platelets are fine).
Has anyone experienced a&e give them the wrong advice? I'm tempted to wake the baby up and go back to a&e again.

Baby is under 8 weeks old?
well in himself, no temps, feeding well, normal wet nappies?
seen by 2 doctors and had blood tests to rule out clots clotting, platelets and infection concerns?
if he’s otherwise well apart from the cough it’s most likely it’s a viral rash however if anything changes seek further medical advice
