Baby wiggling up cot. Waking up when at top!

I put my baby (7 months) to sleep in his cot with his feet right at the bottom, he wiggles a lot in his sleep and wakes regularly in the night and I've noticed it's always when his head gets to the top and he's pushing up against a hard cot end and wakes him. If I leave him to his own devices he does this and wakes up 4/5 times and wants fed to settle again. I find myself stirring often in the night and have now started to yoink him down to the bottom of his cot again, as long as he's still asleep and not quite at the top yet this doesn't wake him and it buys me longer until his next wake up. Last night he only fed twice, but I had to pull him down to the bottom of the cot again 3 times. I just want a bit more sleep! Even when he slept longer last night I obviously didn't as I was awake frequently enough to do the yoinking!

Has anyone had this? How can I stop him? Gah!! It's worse sleep wise now than when I had a newborn!

Hey! My son is 8 months old and sometimes does this...doesn't normally wake him up though...unfortunately I don't think there is anything you can do about him moving in the night😕

Maybe to help with your sleep, take shifts if you have a partner? Cause yeah, 4/5 times a night is extremely exhausting, I feel for you.

I read it's part of them developing so I think he'll grow out of moving a lot that it wakes him up but until then, yeah, maybe night shifts? Sorry I couldn't be anymore help

He's breastfed so not much my husband can do, he takes him and settles him back into his cot after a feed but can't do the feeding. 5 wake-up's again last night!

I got a cot bumper from Mokee. I know it's not recommended but only started using it after 6mo and it solved the problem.

It's pure wool, thin and breathable.

Mine did this. They grew out of it but it was annoying at the time, I don’t have any solutions sorry. I always wished for some sort of automatic conveyor belt like at the supermarket

Try using a Safe T Sleep. It wraps around their tummy and keeps them in place.

I know sleep is a real problem but I just wanted to say I found your thread title so cute! Babies are mad little bunnies aren’t they.

Have you tried a tavel cot? To hard ends to push himself up. My wee one has started doing this it's almost like he looking for the boob by not fully awake then we he makes contact with something that isn't boob he proper wakes for it.

Did you manage to find a solution to your LO moving up the cot? Mine is 1year old and doing this now. I wake up 6 or 7 times for the same reason, to nurse back to sleep or pull down the cor to stop her banging her head and waking up. I'm so exhausted, need a solution. My husband works abroad so no one else to help

At a year, it is safe to use pillows, so maybe try that and see if it stops her banging her head?

Unfortunately this is a developmental thing and torture for us parents😅 eith my son it was rolling onto his front at 5 months old, and crying to be to
put back again. His record was 11 wake ups one night, we were demented.

Try and settle him back swiftly and quietly if you can, I do think my son got bad wake habits from his leaps like that and he ended up a bad sleeper, only now at 19 months has he started getting any longer chunks of sleep and wakes up just once now - to some that sounds like a nightmare but for us it's a dream come true 😂
