How do you revive yourselves?

We have 2 boys under 3, we both work full time and they go to a childminder in the day but we are exhausted!!! I'm trying to work now and my eyes are going cross eye I'm so tired 😴

Night time routine has been awful recently and it's a nightmare getting them to bed. Quite often we aren't finishing dinner until 9pm and then we're so tired we crash.

I feel a distance between us and I keep saying to myself when I wake up to make more of an effort but then the day comes and I just can't be arsed at the end of the day as would rather go to sleep, or do the life admin tasks that need doing.

We need to get back on track but how? We both just feel tired, crappy, unfit, and meh!

We don't have any support around us so it's literally just us. Friends offer to baby sit but when it comes to it they are always busy.

How do you keep perky/rejuvenated/energetic/motivated blah blah

Agree in advance which evenings you are going to bed early, which ones are for necessary admin and which ones are for couple time.

We aim for 2 post-bedtimes being for "us" each week. Then its usually 2 days of admin/tidying/work and 3 where we are both allowed to crash when the kids are down!

It won't always be this bad. Our eldest is 6 and bedtime is a delight. Our nearly 3 yo twins are where the problem lies....They really cannot cope without a nap, but it means they aren't ready for bed until between 9&10pm most nights. It's a killer! I'm tired and hot (7months pregnant) and it's very frustrating. But I look at my eldest and remeber being horribly frustrated at this age and now it's so simple. You'll get through it.

Oh, but do let me know if you find a solution to "unfit". I haven't the energy to get into better shape and it does annoy me sometimes!
