School run with a newborn

How do you parents cope with the school run with a newborn?
baby always wants a feed at the time we have to leave the house, if I try feeding earlier baby won’t take it and I’m anxious about leaving them to cry and be hungry until we’re home.
school isn’t walking distance so we have to drive which is a round trip of about 45 minutes.
my friend has been taking my dc to school and collecting them this week but it’s not possible for her to help after Thursday so I will have to drive them.
I went out alone with baby for the first time this morning and they screamed the whole time which gives me bad anxiety. I’m not sure why I’m struggling so much this time as it didn’t phase me with my other 2 and I worked around it but I don’t seem to be able to this time.
Can anyone share any tips please?

Leave earlier, feed baby in car whilst waiting for school to open?

Could you get there a little early and feed them while you wait for the kids to go in?

I'm currently breastfeeding a 3 month old and doing the school run on foot, 25 minute walk each way. Most of the time he feeds before we leave and then naps for most of it but if he really needs a feed before we get back, I'll stop and get him out to feed him while I walk the rest of the way

Change schools if possible, that is an insane school run. But agree with others, drive earlier and feed there.

Many years ago now, but I used to feed the baby in the car once the older kids were in the school before driving home.

I totally understand as my third is now 2 weeks old and today was DD2's first school run- we're lucky that it's only a ten minute walk and I had my DS in a stretchy wrap and it was fine. He hates the car seat so I'd dread your scenario- and my girls have clubs that I'll be driving them too and I'm already dreading it!

I'd probably feed in the car after the drop off, at least LO wouldn't be hungry. I'm also using a dummy very sparingly and he doesn't really like it, but it has helped in the car a bit- easier when my DD2 is in the back and can pop it in for me!
