Hi I'm just wanting to know if I'm over reacting about this subject. My boyfriend and I had a child. Now we are both in late 20's and early 30's. We tried living with each other which was (half way between where we both come from) leaving both of us driving one hour each way to work daily. I done it fine but my partner complained and wouldn't come home most nights and ended staying at his mums house most times because he was missing his friends and all too. Leaving me in a new city to raise our child by myself. So I decided it best for me and the child to move closer to where I come from and work.
His mother would say to me that this was normal him staying with her because he needed time with friends and it wasn't fair on him to do the driving that we were both doing. This was all during my last two months of pregnancy and then with our newborn baby.
But we live in to different states and it's a two hour drive from where me and his child live. As the child lives with me in one state she gets all her doctors and health care where I come from. They want her to have it in their state too as incase the child gets sick when she is visiting them. Which isn't often at all. Maybe one day a month.
My questions is now. They're filling in forms for her to get health care there too. However his mother had told him to get a written letter from me to say he has custody of the child. Is that normal requirement just to get her registered? Or am I panicking about nothing?
