Hi all, I have a week old little boy that has pooed everyday until yesterday morning he hasn't had one and it's now been over 24 hours just wondering if this is normal?
He is breast fed and formula fed. TIA

At a week old I’d be chatting to the HV. Likely as soon as you ring he’ll do a mega poo.

In the mean time can you do more breast than formula? Breastmilk can have a laxative effect so it might help him to go.

How right were you, I literally wrote this post and he started straining and has now had one 😂. I was struggling with the breast milk situation but it's so much better now I've got an electric pump instead of the manual so it's definitely getting better and I will keep that up thank you.

That’s good to hear. Always the way.

always feel free to reach out to support such as the NCT infant feeding line to help if you need.

My DD would sometimes go 4-5 days without a poo at that stage. I think the health visitor told me to contact the GP if it got to 5 days but she always did a massive poo just before I got to that stage. The Baby Bjorn bouncer was always good for getting her to poo when she was tiny. I had to buy a 2nd cover for it as we had so many poonamis it was constantly in the wash.
