In a rut?

I am usually quite motivated to get things done around the house and to go out. Lately though, I have been feeling a bit sad...maybe even a bit lonely (despite going out with friends with babies for get togethers etc.). My 5 month old has been cranky lately (teething?) and my husband has been working lots during the day. I usually look forward to weekends with him, as I get somewhat of a break but he was working around the house yesterday and running his errands and today he left with some friends to go skiing all day. I feel alone and I don't even want to do anything. Does anyone else ever feel like this? I hope this feeling goes away soon.

Yes I do often feel like this. It makes me hate myself and depressed which is clearly counter-productive. My DP works shifts many many weekends and evenings, been on my own with the kids most of the day today and tried to stop the feelings creeping in.

My cure is to keep busy not necessarily house-work but visiting friends, walking (usually clears my head) to the cafe for a mocha or something, looking at the toys in Woolworths, library, ducks etc.

You have to try and snap yourself out of it, tell DH how you feel too after all if he's working so much you need a break too!!

Good luck

My husband works the same kinds of shifts...makes it hard. It seems like you hit a low and then somehow get yourself up. Today...when I first posted this, I felt so horrible then I went shopping with my mom and got some help from her. And my son was thankfully in a terrific mood today...I am feeling much better now.
