DC is about to start primary school and I need to label his uniform. Does anyone have any recommendations for labels/stamps etc? Thanks!

I did sew on labels for anything 'long term'. Stick on labels for drinks bottles, shoes, lunch boxes etc. I got them from easy2name.

Everything else I used biro!

We get the Just-stick ones from Woven Labels UK

If you get iron on labels you can use a hair straightener rather than an iron (handy hint😀).

Stikins are the best I’ve found. I ironed them in when my eldest started reception 6 years ago. Waste of time. Some fell out, the corners scratched them on others. Got Stikins after that and never looked back.

Stickins

Nametags4u- ds is going into year 9 and I have used them since nursery and never had an issue

I've used stickins for short term stuff. Long term or expensive coats etc I use attach a tag. And I also have a stamptastic stamper that is great for white shirts etc and easy to re stamp if it fades. Not so good for the dark colours like trousers and blazer etc so I've used a combo over the years. I have arthritis in my hands and need easy low effort solutions, I'd recommend all these 3 products.

Ewanismydreamsheep · 02/09/2023 18:55

I’ve used a stamptastic stamp for nursery last year and school this year. The stamp lasted the whole school year and is super quick. I did the whole load of uniform in 15 minutes this year

Thanks so much everyone - this is all really helpful! Sounds like a combo of labels/stamps might be the way to go.

I use mynametags. When ds was in infants he could choose a picture on the sticker!

Stick on name tags for clothes and bags and water bottles. Basically EVERYTHING!

I don't mind admitting we still use them now and ds is 19!!! (Plain ones now with initial and surname!)

No I'm not a weirdo parent - but he competes for a team in elite sport and everyone has the same kit. Often different kits for different events. So lots of labelling and I'm not seeing names on new kits multiple times a year!

These stickers are a godsend for quickly labelling everything before packing it. Last time he travelled abroad his kit arrived 27 hours before he went 🫣🤣

Use topcashback of you go with mynametags, they usually have large cash back deals. Don't bother with iron on, the sticker ones last a long time on anything we've used them for. Well over a year and then usually they've grown out of it all anyway.

mamaison · 02/09/2023 21:06

I use Stickins as you can also put them in shoes, on drink bottle etc.

These are brilliant and never come off anything accidentally.

Whichever stickers you get put your mobile number on them too.

Line 1: Child's name
Line 2: your mobile

Then if they lose things out and about you hate a chance of getting things back.

I need a new set. My old set for ds1 lasted me about 20 years and I now need more for ds2.

Sprogonthetyne · 03/09/2023 08:09

I do sew on for cloths and stick on for water bottles and lunch boxes. Nothing seems to stay on shoes so now I write their name on the insoles in sharpy. It's a bit of a faff to get ready but nothings ever needed redoing.

Mynametags stick on shoes reliably
