Reusable Nappies Leaking!

I’ve been using reusables with DD almost since she was born-about 20 months-but suddenly they seem to leak quite a lot as she does big wees which flood the nappy.

Its not the fit and it’s not the fabric of the booster cos I’ve tried them all!

We’ve generally used pocket nappies, which I think are meant to leak more often. It seems to be coming through the sewing on the leg elastics.

So looking for recommendations on what brand and type to try next. Just the daytime ones-night is fine.

Im not ready to throw in the towel and use disposables-even the eco ones!

Thank you!

Motherease unos or duos are quite simply the best. Nothing comes close in my experience, unless they are really bulky.

I also used totsbots bamboozles and then reusabelles night nappies under a motherease airflow. Absolutely bomb proof.

There are lots to be had on Facebook at the moment as Vinted and eBay have banned them as ‘adult products’ (but used adult swimwear ok apparently 😳)

Generally the 2 parts are better for this issue. Motherease airflow wraps are bombproof.

the nappy lady was always my go to place for advice

Thiraties NAIO are amazing. I also love motherease unos boosted with a hemp if needed.

Adult products! 😂

Thanks for the replies!

Ive only just found out about the motherease airflow ones a month ago-was sceptical considering the design looked a bit gappy but so far so good.

so not surprised that people are suggesting them for the day too.

I would say there's just too much wee to hold if it's coming through the stitching.

Have you tried adding an extra booster (the little Lambs double bamboo can be picked up quite cheaply if you don't have spares). Cheaper in the short term than buying new nappies!

I always use a bamboo one in the pocket with a microfibre/muslin one on top to soak up quickly…it used to work well but maybe it’s getting too much!

we’re trying to tempt her into potty training but no luck yet…

I wish I'd stopped using pocket nappies sooner, they leaked periodically. We finally got fed up when DD2 was a toddler but didn't want to invest so got terries at £2 each plus some wraps and they have been brilliant: never leak, good for day and night, quick to fold.
