Experiences with 1 year vaccines?

Wondering what everyone’s experiences have been with the 1 year vaccines.
Due to a fridge failure at the doctors and me having postnatal mum brain at 16 weeks my son had all his jabs at 8, 12 and 16 weeks but missed his second dose of Men B (wasn’t in stock the day of the jabs).
Been for his 1 year jabs today (13 months old) and he had all 4 but one was his 2nd dose of Men B and so needs to go for his Men C in 8 weeks (will be 15 months by then) as the nurse said it probably wasn’t wise to do 5 in one go.
Just wondering how everyone’s babies did with their 1 year jabs? Has anyone had catch up jabs at the same time? He seems fine so far, I’ve given calpol as instructed and he had the jabs 4 hours ago.
I’m probably very over cautious as he is prone to febrile seizures and has had one after every other immunisation. Got myself in a bit of a panic over if he is going to get a high temp and have a seizure.

My little one had his jabs last month. He was fine afterwards, no temp and couldn't see any real difference in him but was hyper aware for days. A few weeks after he was a bit cranky, I think when the mumps part of it kicked in, but tbh it could've been teething or frustration cause he was trying to walk.

That sounds really stressful with the seizures and I'd be the same as you! Sorry you've got that added stress to it. Hope he's ok and that you don't worry too much

@Babaganoo thanks for your reply. I get a bit anxious at the best of times so I’ve been worrying for weeks since I booked the appointment! No temp last night and seemed fine so fingers crossed for when he wakes up today. Thank you yes she mentioned about the 7-10 day mark and said to keep an eye out for a rash/temp then. I know it’s well worth it to protect him from the horrible illnesses though. The seizures are the worst and sadly every single time it’s happened I’ve been on my own with him. He’s slept all night long without a peep and I’ve barely slept a wink 🤦‍♀️

@Maisie2019 oh bless you. I'm glad he seems ok and hope you get some rest today (although I'm well aware that is impossible with a one year old haha). Have you got someone with you today? How is he this morning?

Confusing.
At one year of age they have Hib/Men C (combined), MMR, third pneumonia, third Men B. If a child hasn't had two Men B in the first year of life they need two doses one month apart in the second year.
So isn't it his outstanding Men B he needs to go back for?
And why on earth did they let it get to one year before trying to catch him up? He could have had that missing Men B on its own at any time before one.
Where does the nurse get five jabs from?? The one year old vaccines are four jabs. Quite normal.

Practice nurse by the way. Are you in the UK?

Maisie2019 · 02/09/2023 07:38

@cptartapp sorry I got myself confused just checked what he had - it’s the missed Men B he’s got to go back for in 8 weeks. Not Men C. So the 3rd Men B. Maybe she meant he couldn’t have 2 doses of Men B at once as it has to be 8 weeks apart? To be honest it confused me a little when you said that but makes sense now. He had 4 jabs yesterday.

@Babaganoo he’s a little ratty this morning and slightly raised temp of 37.8 but not too bad. His seizures tend to come when he has spiked over 38.5 in the past so keeping a close eye! Haha there will be no rest in this house with dogs and a 1 year old and partner who works all the time 😂

@Maisie2019 I feel your pain! I've got 13 month old DS, 13 year old DSS and 3 year old DDog this morning while DH works!

Maisie2019 · 02/09/2023 09:04

@Babaganoo sounds like my day but 2 dogs instead of 1 dog and a teenager 😂 luckily 13mo isn’t walking yet so I don’t have to run too far. We also have 3 molars half way broken with small bits of the tooth sticking out but not the whole thing. Pray for me 😂😂😂

@Maisie2019 oh god I forgot about molars 🤦🏻‍♀️ can they come through this early?! We've currently only got 3 teeth lol 2 at the bottom, one at the top. We call it his goof toof 😂 is your DS trying to walk? Ours just started last weekend and this weekend he seems to think he can sprint. It's like watching a feral drunk 😅 enjoy your time before he gets going! This is a whole new ballgame now lol

Maisie2019 · 02/09/2023 14:25

@Babaganoo unfortunately yes for us 😭 he has been early with all his teeth and has 11 now! If you include the 3 molars as only half the tooth is sticking out!! Awww bless him bet he looks cute. He’s walking with a push along walker or mini shopping trolley but only stands totally independently for about 5-10 seconds so it will be a while yet I think. Although saying that he went from nothing to fully cruising within a week or so! Yes not looking forward to actually chasing him everywhere right now he is quite slow. Feral drunk 😂😂😂 love that

@Maisie2019 DS was the same for ages, did a bit of standing around 5-10 seconds but tbh he never stood for much longer only this week since he's started walking. It's mad how you wait and wait and wait and then suddenly they're just going and there's no stopping them! We're going to get him some shoes tomorrow lol I can't wait but I know he's gonna hate them.

11 teeth?! That's amazing! DS goes through biting phases when he's teething or frustrated so I'm pretty glad he's barely got any 😂
