Hey all, long time lurker first time poster. Today while putting shopping away, DD 10month old suddenly starts crying, pick her up and she has blood in her mouth and her tooth has being knocked out? She didn't fall, didn't seem to bang her mouth on anything and has no mark on her face. I have an appointment for her tomorrow with the dentist, I don't even know why I'm posting, just feel so awful about it 😭

I wouldnt worry about milk tooth loss per say as will grow adult ones. Have you found the tooth? if not I'd ring 111 to see if they suggest xraying her to check it's not been inhaled

DD lost a tooth at 2 and a bit falling over. She's had a gap now for more than 3 years. Can't imagine her with two front teeth now! We spoke to a dentist but didn't see one. He said no point really, adult one will grow in eventually.

I did the same at a similar age. Tripped in the garden and knocked it out. Had a gap until the second one grew in.

My young nephew fell downstairs and lost his 2 front teeth. We had to monitor his poo for a week to see if he had swallowed them. The teeth never reappeared.. until about 6 months later. They had gone back into the gums when he knocked them. They just grew back down! I didn’t even know this was a thing!

Just back from the dentist, she said it's surprisingly common and to not worry, that she may have a gap until adult teeth come but no damage, thank goodness 👌

Oh dear, that’s a shame, but very very common!! My friends boy (4) is missing a front tooth and has been for some time from tripping and whacking it on the stairs and my son (2) chipped his tooth just the other day falling over in the yard. Easily done.
