Anyone else with a small baby?

DD is nearly 3 months old. She was born on the 9th percentile at 5lb14. It was a bit of a shock she was so small as my first DC was 8lb and turned into a real chunk.

DD is still wearing some newborn clothes although gradually starting to fit a few 0-3.

I know she's not off if the percentile chart and everyone says not to worry, but I can't help but worry she's small all the time and whether she will always be small.
I'm 5ft6 and DH is 6ft so we're not small people.

Anyone else had similar? Did they catch up?

My DD was 5lbs15oz full term, she was dinky as a baby. She's 13 now and taller than most of her friends.

DS was prem and 2lbs10oz at 31 weeks, he's still slightly smaller than his friends but more so in build rather than height. Neither of them were noticeably smaller when starting school

My daughter was 6lb 4 and overdue which puts her on the 5th centile at birth. She then did not gain weight well due to a medical condition which has now been resolved. She was always in clothes 1-2 sizes below she should have been.

now at 4.5 she is average height but still a skinny little thing, some of her shorts are 18-24 or 2-3 🤦‍♀️😂 but she doesn’t stand out and looking underweight.

your baby may well catch up! Try not to worry xx

My daughter was 5lb 4oz and was tiny. She's 2 .5 now and slowly getting there in terms of her height and size. I was the same as a baby so wasn't expecting anything different.

My little girl was born at 38 weeks, induced because of IUGR and weighed 6lb 2oz. She then had prolonged jaundice, and feeding issues so dropped to below the 0.2 centile shortly after.

She's always been a full size behind her age ie only went into 0-3 months at just gone 3 months, and 3-6 months when she was 7 months. It was a pain, as people had bought her clothes for the summer/winter and they simply didn't fit.

I weighed her recently and she's up to the 75th centile now at nearly 19months. I simply stopped worrying once I could see she was enjoying her food and growing.

DD was 5lb 11oz, 11 days early. 9th percentile. She stayed on 9th percentile through all checks, 5 now and still petite but has just had a growth spurt and is not noticeably small for her age now. Felt like she was in tiny baby/newborn clothes for an eternity. She only went properly into 12-18months just before she turned 2. She's still about a clothes size behind, went into 4-5 just before turning 5. She is very bright and did everything really fast though, crawling/walking etc.
