Sick of it all

Sick of my daughters violent meltdowns she’s autistic and it’s relentless, everyone said it would get better as she got older but she’s 1000x worse, I actually hate my life. She has extreme violent meltdowns, smashes things up, I bought her a very expensive iPad which she begged for for years and I couldn’t afford it but eventually I could and she’s smashed it to pieces, every time something starts her off she smashes it up, I’ve tried taking it off her and she smashes the house up and screams hysterically, her charger broke today and she’s kicked off hit her sibling and threatening to break things in the house. I can’t have anything nice and I hate my life. She threatens to jump out of windows, leave the house in the middle of the night, it’s exhausting

I've not experience here, but didn't want to read and run. Sending hugs OP and hope some people can give some advice to get you some support. Xx

Can you seek out a respite unit at all?
How old is she? If 18 or over, she needs to be moving into a more independent set up and learn how to take care of herself.
No one should have to be in an abusive relationship.
Can you call the NAS?

I hear you !! My autistic dd11 is being a nightmare at the moment, not sleeping so waking the whole house up wanting to go in the garden etc. We've just moved to a first floor flat so have to be very careful with the noise and she screams and shouts during the night. I'm so stressed with it all.

That’s exactly what she’s like she’s been up all night pacing the house refusing to sleep, I’ve barely slept all night because I can hear her pacing around crying and repeating herself. It’s exhausting.

She doesn’t seem well. Have you taken her to the dr?

BananaSlug · 30/08/2023 11:30

She’s like it all the time it’s not out of character? She’s not unwell.

l have an ASD teen. I feel your pain. Would anti depressants reduce the anxiety levels a bit and improve her behaviour?
