Trousers for slim 5 yo

Where can I buy trousers for my slim 5yo? She's petite in height too but just had a growth spurt and most of her 4-5 bottoms now are too short. She prefers to wear leggings mostly but the waists on the 5-6 hang off her. Does anywhere affordable do adjustable waist bottoms?

Both my boys are very slim and I used to get them trousers from either m and s or Polarn o Pyret. The latter have a sale at the moment, ds7 is size 5-6 and wears the leggings from there (it’s unisex) and they have an adjustable waist and a 3 for 2 offer.

They also have patterned ones!

H&m do adjustable waist leggings. For school I always buy extra long trousers from m&s in two sizes too small for my dd. So when she was 8 I would buy extra long trousers in size 5-6.

CheersToMe · 29/08/2023 17:27

Yes, came on to say buy long length in a smaller size.

H&M come up slim IME although also quite long. You could also try La Redoute and Vertbaudet.

Where does long lengths ? Never even thought of that, it's a great idea. She's not tall, she's actually quite petite in height too but it still doesn't match her slimness. Thanks for the suggestions, buying school uniform for her is proving a nightmare too as people have alluded to!

Zara leggings are good. They also do ‘extra long’ on some. I expect they will release winter range in the next few weeks. Really reasonable at £5-15 range.

Polarn o poret- very good quality.

Next do a lot with adjustable waist. They also do leggins in a longer length so you could get age 5 for the waist but in longer leg...

Do you know if they are unisex? Ds7 loves leggings but he’s so skinny he needs an adjustable waist, we can’t find them anywhere other than Polarn o Pyret.

For uniform m and s are amazing. We get slim fit, skinny leg trousers for ds still need to adjust the waist slightly but a much better fit

I have the same problem with both my girls so following for suggestions! If it fits round the waist it's too short on the leg... If long enough, they're falling down and baggy round their thighs which they hate. The only ones I've found that seem to fit great are the sort of shiny/sports wear style leggings. Got a couple in Tesco, but they came in sets with crop tops, that I didn't particularly want, and meant I basically paid £15-18 for a pair of leggings! But they love them as they actually fit nicely

I found Zara sizes to be on the long and thin side, but that was the boys selection.

Google things like tall/extra long and size down .
