Costa gift card for nursery staff

My little one is leaving pre-school on Thursday as he's going to school in September.

He goes to pre-school and forest school therefore he has 9 main staff split over the two rooms who look after him.

I was thinking of getting him to write a card and put in a Costa gift - card instead of the standard chocolates etc.

Shall i do a £5 gift card or a £10 gift card?

Thank you

One each at £10 a go is a big expense, but realistically £5 isn't going to get them a coffee and cake.

Could you send a group gift for all of them to share instead? Really nice biscuits and cakes for the staff room, perhaps.

Can you easily afford £90? I know I couldn't. £10 would be much nicer to receive than £5. But £5 is absolutely fine.

Nursery worker here...I would love a 5 pound Costa voucher! I have a slight coffee addiction though 😁

I can afford £10 each but would obviously prefer £5. I am trying to justify £10 as they've been with him for two years.

Any small local coffee shops you could support instead?

Instead of £90 to Costa, I'd do a hamper for the staff room including a coffee blend from a local small business coffee shop and some nice biscuits or sweet treats!

There has been a big turnover of staff, i want to get something specific to the workers that he has known for 2 years. Plus the list is what the management have given me. I don't know the village that will to be able to support a local coffee shop and not all do gift cards.

Sounds cheesy but most nursery workers love receiving a thank you card with some words of appreciation inside. Childcare is a typically low paid and often under valued profession so it's always nice to hear that the work you have done is appreciated and recognised. The staff would probably love a small token of appreciation but honestly don't feel you have to spend lots, it really is not necessary.

the gift card will be in a thank you card that i am going to get my DS to hand write to each individual.

I think £5 is a lovely idea :)

I’ve bought £10 ones! They could get a coffee and cake :)
