Reception snack

DS starting reception this week, we've been told to bring in a snack for them (they won't stay for lunch for a while as they're phasing them in) what sort of snacks do people send with their 4 year old? I know he'd probably like crisps but I don't know if it should be something healthier or more substantial. Just don't want him being different from the others on his first day

I'm a reception teacher, our school policy is only fruit or vegetables for snack time, basically the same things that school will provide once they are delivered to school.

Fruit. Something they can peel themselves (like a banana). Obviously the school will tell you if there's anything you can't have due to allergies.
Although usually free fruit and veg is provided.
