16 month old not walking and not talking

My little girl is 16 months old and doesn’t walk yet. I know she can walk but she doesn’t want to. I’ve seen it many times but she seems scared and rather clings to furniture.
She also doesn’t have any words yet. None at all. Not even Mama.
She just seems behind compared to other kids I see everywhere. It’s frustrating and l am starting to get worried. She can point to things but usually doesn’t do it to convey needs. She can clap but still can’t wave hello. I’ve tried everything but she just won’t catch up.
Is this still normal or should I see someone?

My daughter is nearly 19 months and just started to say 'ma' for cat and 'foof' for dog! I'm not worried though as I know she is taking all in.

Never mind. My girl has started to walk and she's surprisingly stable. She let go and went from one side of the room to the other. I couldn't believe it. Now she walks everywhere and sometimes goes back to crawling but rarely and of course still falls sometimes.
She says Mama and kisses me on the cheek. :)))) I love her to death

Hi @Helena1993 realise this is an old post but my son is now in the exact same place as your daughter described above with him not walking or talking yet despite being 16 months next week.
wondering if you could let me know what happened with your daughter as I’m writing about my son everyday now….
Thanks!

Both my children walked at around 18months. 1st rolled everywhere, he was so speedy when rolling that he didn’t really need to walk! 2nd crawled, again much quicker than if he walked. Do you have any older children? I found 2nd DC spoke later as the 1st would speak for him. Speak to your HV but I wouldn’t be too worried yet.
