Photo albums with two children

Hello, this is such a non-issue but I'm driving myself mad thinking about it so could do with some other opinions please.

DS was born at the beginning of lockdown so we weren't allowed any visitors. My grandma doesn't have a smart phone so I used to order pictures to send to her, and kept some for myself. I have two and a half albums of pictures of DS which he loves looking through.

DD has now arrived. I want to carry on with the photos but I can't figure out how to organise it. I l have pictures of her on her own but a lot with DS as well, which I wouldn't know what to do with if I kept separate albums. My instinct is just to carry on the album that I've got and do it chronologically, but then I worry about not giving her her own dedicated album like her brother has.

Like I said I know this is a boring problem, but I'm a first born so overthinking how to keep things fair for my second born.

Ours were all family albums. DM was sick of them cluttering up space so I now have had to take custody of several albums that I don’t particularly want, but neither do my siblings.

I would have one album but save the photos to a picture disc each, that way they have their own copies that don’t take up space.

Has forever always been the way that the first born has tons more photos, and also - naturally - photos on their own.

Just put the photos in albums according to year.

Remember, your dd will have lots that your ds didn't get to have (photo with Grandma, photo with Grandpa, photo with Uncle Bill, photo with great Aunty Pam, etc etc)

You will discover as a parent your dc don't always get "the same", what you ensure is that you treat them fairly by doing what is best at the time and in their set of circumstances

I’d make 3, family and each child individually

I just do albums as family albums, organised chronologically. Anything more than that is too complicated!

I have found that as my dc have got older, I take fewer photos of them so it takes much longer to fill one album and therefore makes more sense just to keep them all together in one.

I keep mine organised by year so that when my children are much older, they can take what photos they want and if they both want a photo, they can get a copy made. I have them in clear plastic bags with a label on. Working well so far. I also put my top favourite photos in their baby books
