Chicken Pox going on FOREVER - is this normal?

Any savvy mums know much about the pox?

My four year old has had spots for over 7+ days now and they just keep appearing. He has very thick green snot coming out one side of his nose as well constantly (TMI sorry.)

It definitely seems to be the pox, but I thought that they would have stopped appearing after 3-5 days. They are truly vile things. Poor lamb.

Is this normal?

is he still getting new spots? I would take him to the doctors. Usually new spots only appear for the first four or five days.

Yes he has had spots appearing for nearly 12 days. The first ones crusted over last sat

Good Morning

my DS and DD have both had just had Chicken Pox, my DS got it first and is fully recovered now. DD first got her spots over 2 weeks ago and she still has many on her back and top of her bottom that haven't crusted over yet. I think that DR's nowadays say it is 4-5 days after the spots appear that they start to crust over....I know that it can be a lot longer than that so unless there is a temperature or 'unwellness' I wouldn't worry unduly and keep applying calamine in aqueous cream and porridge oats in a sock in bath water to help with the itching.
