Just wondering if anyone has any experience?

she has had 3 in the last 6 weeks. She’s so uncomfortable when she has them i feel terrible for her.

She was prescribed a 3 days course of antibiotics, she seemed back to herself for just over a week then the symptoms came back. Doctor thought the original infection just hadn’t cleared so prescribed a 7 day course of antibiotics. Again half way through the course she seemed better then again about a week later all the symptoms were back.

Doctor has prescribed another 7 day course of a different antibiotic and she has been referred for an ultrasound. Has anyone had a similar experience and what was the results of the ultrasound?

Im just so wary about the amount of antibiotics she’s having to take! The doctor said the bacteria that is showing in her urine isn’t a common one which might suggest ‘she might not be wired up correctly inside but kids can grow out of it’ his words 🙈.

We don’t use perfumed soaps in the bath/shower, I still help her wipe in the toilet so I know that’s been done correctly.

My DD was the same at that age, multiple UTIs, lots of courses of antibiotics. Can still remember the funny smell of her wee, and she 17 and at Reading festival now.

She had the scan, which found nothing unusual, and she ended up on a very low dose of antibiotics for six months. Stopped that and she seemed to be fine from then on. The doctor explained that when they are little, and the urethra is very small, it’s more likely, and as they grow bigger they are less common. Fingers crossed!

My goddaughter had this and I remember her mum being super stressed. I think they did a scan to see if there were any issues with kidneys etc but there wasn’t and she did just grow out of them in the end. She’s mid teens now and absolutely fine.
