Swaddle addict help!

My 12 week old has only ever slept in a swaddle for all daytime naps & night sleep. It’s time to transition him out but he isn’t having any of it- he wakes himself up every ten minutes with his arm (I leave one out now) I always give in each night and swaddle fully again. Please help. I also tried a lovetodream transition swaddle (arms up) but again he kept waking himself up. At my wits end here and wish I had never swaddled to begin with

I think unfortunately you just have to battle on and get through it. He will eventually get used to it. Obviously the older he is the more likely he will start to roll, and the danger of him rolling, swaddled, hugely exceeds the inconvenience of disrupted sleep for a bit 🙁

You just have to preserve. It’s not because you shouldn’t have swaddled, it’s because newborns have a strong startle reflex so don’t kick yourself. Unfortunately sometimes they need to move on from the swaddle for safety before the reflex is fully gone. My youngest rolled at 7 weeks so that was the end of the swaddle and it was 2 bad nights then it was fine.

Is it better to go cold Turkey or try one arm out for a bit?

Mine was rolling so it would have been dangerous to do anything except cold turkey.
