TikTok, built-in parental control. Works?

Hi, my DDs are asking once again for tiktok and I'm quite inclined to say NO, but I've seen there's a built-in parental control in the app and I didn't tested it... do you know how it works? Is it totally trustworthy? I mean does it block for sure all the inappropriate videos, or what is displayed is still all up to their algorithm pushing hot, stupid or unethical videos in the name of more clicks?

No, inappropriate videos can still get through.

Just say no. It won't scar them for life to have to wait till they're older and you save them from a great deal of harm that can come from TikTok.

Thanks, as I suspected. Maybe I'll test it if I'll have time because DDs are asking for it a lot but as you suggested almost certainly it will be another "no".
