What do other parents use?

We have had the ikea high chair since my daughter was 6mo she's now 2.5yo

She seems too big for the high chair, but not a clue what other parents might use

Ikea sell some kids dining chairs which are a bit taller than a normal chair, or you can use a booster seat on your normal chair, or, a stokke tripp trapp chair (second hand or a cheaper copy of it) is a good investment as it will last her till she's 8/9.

A normal chair?

Booster cushion on a chair.

Mine use IKEA junior chairs.

YourNameGoesHere · 22/08/2023 18:55

Just a chair here with a pillow to boost him up a bit.

PurBal · 22/08/2023 18:56

We use a normal chair with a firm cushion

Shouldhavebutdidnt · 22/08/2023 18:57

We had the Tripp Trapp which was ace but heavy and now have an IKEA higher dining chair. DD (almost 5) prefers it and chose it over the Tripp Trapp

Clefable · 22/08/2023 19:02

We had a booster cushion with strap for normal dining chair by that point.

DD is 19 months and for about a month she's been at the ikea toddler table and chair next to our table in the kitchen. £29 for a table and 2 chairs.

PinkPlantCase · 22/08/2023 19:05

With a 2yo we have a Tripp trapp and it’s great!

TropicalTrama · 22/08/2023 19:08

Also- we gave away the tripp trapp around the time DS turned 2 because it’s bloody uncomfortable and he didn’t want to sit on it (can’t blame him) and also because I felt he was safer on our normal chairs which have sides. SIL also had ones for years presumably for the aesthetic value and the kids would fight about who didn’t have to sit on it because they all hated it. I love it as a high chair but it’s pretty awful as a real chair. If you don’t own one already I wouldn’t buy one now.

Mine is 2 and she sits on a booster seat I got from Amazon (Ingenuity). It's easy to clean and tucks under the table nicely so you can't tell it's there.

She usually eats her breakfast in her playroom at her little Ikea table and chair though which she absolutely loves.

We have a tripp trapp for our 2 year old (she loves it!) And our 4 year old has a booster seat on the dining chair
