Potty training nearly 3 and possibly not ready?

My daughter turns 3 soon and we’ve tried potty training a few times but she’s gotten so upset and stressed about sitting on the potty/toilet and no nappies that we’ve stopped and come back to it. She’s never wanted to wear pants but I bought some training pants from Amazon and she will wear them but uses them like a nappy and just goes in them. Majority of the time when I ask her to sit on the potty/toilet she still refuses/screams/cries. Should we take another break and come back to it as she isn’t ready or persevere? I’m at a loss of what to do

Is she NT? If so, I would have the nappy fairy come and visit shortly after she turns three. The nappy fairy takes away the nappies and gives them to babies who need them, in their place she leaves some big girl knickers and some other special treats for big girls.

When the nappies are gone completely she will have no choice but to use the potty/toilet. She may well be upset initially, but when there is no other option she will get over it and use the toilet. The problem you've got at the moment is that she knows if she protests for long enough you'll give in and the nappies come back. She needs to know, there is no option.

If you suspect there are other issues going on, she maybe be ND for example, then you may just need to wait until she is ready. For children with additional needs this can be much older than NT children.

I don't think she is, she is a very stubborn toddler though. I did think about doing something like the nappy fairy but she has a younger sibling in nappies and also what about night time nappies, she is switched on to be aware of that (went through it when getting her off the dummy). She is happy to be out of nappies now but is using her training pants as a nappy
