Cold before chickenpox

DD nursery confirmed a case of chickenpox in her room on Thursday. She's 23 months and has been clingy over weekend, mentioned sore neck and tummy. Has had a slight fever, cough and runny nose and is generally irritable too. Appetite seems fine.

Are these symptoms before chickenpox? I now seem to have a head cold so no idea if for her it's a general cold, or pre chickenpox? How long after cold symptoms would spots appear?

Whilst I normally wouldn't wish illness on her we are due to go on hols in 4.5 weeks so I am stressed . We have insurance and what will be will be but I've been waiting since pre covid for a holiday and am abit burnt out so it will be upsetting.

The incubation period is 10-21 days so it may not be CP.

@Sunshineclouds11 that's interesting and somewhat good to know someone's had similar symptoms so could be CP. Not great if CP obv.

@dementedpixie yeah NHS says that, I was just wondering if the cold was a precursor to it starting, given I've got a cold now and I've had CP.

So this spot came up on Sunday PM ( day 10 PE), nothing else since. Hasn't got worse, definitely raised and looked abit blistery. Is this the start of CP?
