My baby has always thrown up loads. He's always had reflux, but we're managing it now with amino acid formula and Carobel. He's only been on this combo for a few days but already we can see a huge difference. He happily lays flat on his back now and he's rarely sick.
However, on Friday night and now tonight he's had a very scary episode of gagging and retching before he finally vomited. It was pure formula that came up, not digested milk. This is very different to the way hes been sick in the past. Before it would just come out of his mouth with a burp or a small push and he was unbothered by it.
This time, to me it looked like his stomach was contracting multiple times and he was struggling to catch his breath and was gagging repeatedly like he couldn't breathe. Not a lot came up and he'd had 2oz or so just an hour before.
Has this happened to anyone else? I plan on calling the GP tomorrow but they're not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to babies. I also don't want to drag him out to a&e because he's right as rain now.
