NEXT Sizing - Help?

Hi all, wondering if anyone is familiar with NEXT boys sizing? I am about to order my newborn some baby clothes from NEXT and thought I’d order my son a pair or two of shorts as well. I’m not in the UK (other side of the world) and while we can get NEXT shipped here very easily it’s costly/not worth returning anything.

I’ve not brought him NEXT for ages so unsure of sizing. He is almost 4 (102cm/17kg), wears 3-4 in Zara joggers but 4-5 in their skinny jeans. Wears mostly 3 or 4 in other brands. Type of short I’m looking at is below. Do they run larger than Zara or similar? He won’t bother with the drawstring when dressing himself so need them
not to be falling off 😂

I would use the sizing guide on each product page and order based on height instead of age.🤗

3-4 will be plenty large enough - my 4.5 year old of a similar size can even fit in the 2-3!

I think we have those ones and they’re roomy on the waist. My 10 year old is in the age 8-9 but he’s slender. Is your son chunky on the waist or slim? I think waist size more important than height.

at least you can pass them down the baby if he doesn’t get much use from them but I’d try the age 4 (3-4) unless he’s solid build.

I find that generally next sizes come up big x
