Buying size 5.5 shoes for size 5??

DS is now in size 5, just over. His feet are growing so quickly, I’m just going to purchase some new shoes, can I get away with buying size 5.5? So they last longer or would they be too big?

thanks

Are you buying in person. I also get child to try on a few pairs to see what fits best and has a bit of space. Even within same brand the fit isn’t always the same.

Depends on the shoe and the fit. There's no getting around it: you are going to have to buy him a lot of shoes for a while.

(in 6 weeks my son went from a 5.5 to a 7 🤦‍♀️ Six. Weeks.)

As long as the shoe doesn't slip on the heel when he walks you'll be fine.

Yeah I would

You might be able to reduce the amount of space in the shoe with an insole that you can remove as his feet grow.
