Bazooka just made three large holes in DS2's heel. He now has two new veruccas. I can't tell if the bazooka'd ones have gone as they are such a mess so I will be watching thi sthread avidly.

tried everything on Matts verucca it was massive right on the tip of his toe the dr didnt want to burn it off and we used bazooka that didnt work either so all summer matts had a verruca called barry ruca(yes he named it) one day it just went dunno why dunno how but barry disappeared

hifi · 28/02/2008 20:20

after having mine treated i found out they are a virus, the black things ,like seeds are just dried blood so it makes no difference rooting them out.
i had mine treated with acid over 10 weeks, cost 150 thru my gp, was painful after treatment some weeks but not horrendous. i had had them for over 15 years, felt a little sad to see them go.

babyjjbaby · 28/02/2008 20:24

the scholl spray works think it is about £12 but is fab

spudmasher · 28/02/2008 20:24

We were prescribed verrugon for dd1 age 9. They have gone now but it took 4 months of putting it on and filing every night without fail. I think it was the persistence that did it. Doing it for a couple of months is just not enough and miss an application at your peril!
Dippydeedoo is right. They just seem to go of their own accord eventually but it can take years.

Scoobi6 · 28/02/2008 20:26

another vote for wartners here - froze mine and it disappeared very quickly, with no pain

WestCountryLass · 28/02/2008 21:00

Salactol is fab!

Keep filing the hard skin that builds up around it down as well.

LIZS · 28/02/2008 21:05

We're about 8 weeks into Bazuka on ds . dd's went but his are now callousy and hurt

Mumsnut · 29/02/2008 19:43

Snap with the Bazooka. DS's varucca just got bigger and messier, while the skin around it got more and more painful and raw.

Thanks everyone - keep them coming!

lots of multi vits , healthy diet, yes they are a virus and they will go, eventually. this is wot my mum advises, shes a podiatrist

Alambil · 29/02/2008 20:35

I used to put kitchen roll (a square folded to cover it and keep the oxygen out) with an elastoplast... used to take a couple of weeks or so but they went with little or no discomfort

Tyakit · 29/02/2008 20:42

It is gets really bad I throughly recommend getting a Chiropodist to zap them with a laser. We tried Bazooka - just ended up with big holes in DD's feet and the varucca's kept spreading. One visit to the Chiropodist, a few minutes of sitting still for DD with the laser point each each varucca and the horrible things dried up and fell off in about two weeks. She now has beautiful pain free feet again. Downside is it cost £30 but I think it was worth it as it was pain and stress free treatment.

Blandmum · 29/02/2008 20:45

Wartners didn't work for me. 3 goes and the little sod is still there

Mine is small but so bloody sore

mejon · 29/02/2008 21:20

Tried Cuplex gel from GP for months to no effect, then tried Wartner several times but still there. I finally had them frozen by the GP a couple of months ago. They didn't disappear immediately but did finally go - I just needed to pick/file the dead tissue away every so often (sorry TMI)!

MrsCarrot · 29/02/2008 21:23

ds1 has had one for ages and we do the bazooka endlessly. I like the sound of the chiropodist zapping thing.

hellish · 29/02/2008 21:30

nothing IMO, just waited and they dissapeared - took about 6 months.

pollywobbledoodle · 29/02/2008 21:35
