Where do preschool kids eat for a party at home?

I'm hosting a birthday party at my house next week. 12 three and four year olds are coming.

Was planning standard party buffet type food but now just realised I don't have anywhere they can sit!

I have a couple of higher chairs for my own DC, and a table that seats 8 in the dining room. Could maybe cram ten round it but most would have to sit on normal chairs and kneel up? The kitchen is next to it but not fully open plan (just an open doorway size gap) so not sure if it would be weird to have some in there, although I do have one of those little IKEA tables and chairs.

The parties I've been to have been in soft play so they have kid sized tables and chairs that fit everyone!

What does everyone else do? Picnic style on the floor or does that end in spilling everything?

Just sit on the floor. Get a large piece of oilcloth (like a tablecloth) and they all sit on that

Picnic blankets on the floor either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather makes the most logical sense.
