Other half potentially exposed to Covid - newborn?

Other half was in the car with two people for two hours today. Those people have been exposed to Covid (family staying with them) and they're going to test in the morning.

Should my other half stay away from our 5 week old or am I overly anxious? They'd already spent an hour with them on their chest before they found out.

I'm an overly anxious FTM, so I'm keen to check in on how what others would do.

I would say yes because we had it when my dc was 2 1/2 mos and it was miserable; not like a bad cold, f- ing like dying, delirium, non-stop coughing, sinus draining yellow like a f-ing faucet, body pain like a car wreck, dc barely fed and I was so ill I couldn't do anything other than change and try to feed baby. There's no way to predict how the virus will affect a person even though many people have mild symptoms. Please don't risk it.

I had (asymptomatic, only found out when they tested me in hospital) Covid when my youngest was born. Obviously I didn't stay away from her and she was fine. So I wouldn't bother keeping him away myself.

Myself and DP had covid when DS was born. Pretty sure we caught it while at the hospital.
We didn't know until a week in and no family around so little choice. We wore masks around him for a bit when we did find out but he was totally fine.

111 were really relaxed about it when we asked. Basically said wash your hands, get on with it and call us if baby isnt breathing (?!?!)

I caught covid and so did my 6 week old last year. I felt awful like a really bad cold but baby was totally dine with it other than a runny nose. We were told to look out for issues with breathing but otherwise not to worry.
