How do others deal with back chat / answering back? 8yo child driving me whacky!!!! I'm not expecting what I say goes by any means, but it's just flippin constant.

I’m driven crazy with this recently; no idea if it’s the best approach but I’ve started just shutting the conversation down and not getting into a back and forth. I’ll also explain why something is the way it is and then I say I’ve given you an answer/explanation and I’m not going to continue with this. Otherwise it seems to just end in me telling DC off for back chat.
