Almost 3yo pretending to be a baby?!

Does anyone else's almost 3 yo almost constantly want to pretend to be a baby 🤣

My daughter will say she wants to pretend, then tell me she can't talk as she's a baby, or that she has to crawl as she's a baby? At first it was sweet but now it's happening rather a lot and getting frustrating!
I did wonder whether it was her reaction to not wanting to grow up and "be a big girl", but nothings changed recently that could have triggered it. She's not potty trained yet, no siblings, no big life events 🤷‍♀️

Any ideas?

Yep, normal. Ours did this before her new brother was born and for a loooong time afterwards. Then suddenly she said, "I'm NOT a baby!" And stopped.

The advice is just to go along with it and let them pretend, I think! Make it a fun game. They're just figuring out different family roles through play. Another day she'll want to be a mummy, or a dog, or a caterpillar.

Yes same here. She never had a dummy but now wants to suck one 24/7 (her brother's, she is three). I recently chucked them away. I don't mind the role play but the baby voice is irritating.

Same here. On one hand she’s desperate to be a grown up but as she keeps pushing herself she also likes to regress and play baby to feel safe.

Aww yes. Also a dog, I had to throw things for her to 'fetch'. I just go along with it!

My granddaughter was Bambi.

Yes totally normal, just go with it and make it part of a pretend game, why don't you pretend to be the baby and let her be the mummy
